A Rhode Island Proposal Brings Sparkle Amidst A Pandemic

A Rhode Island Proposal Brings Sparkle Amidst A Pandemic

Jack and Megan first met in college through mutual friends. It wasn't long after they met that sparks started to fly! "Because we started dating in college, we have grown a lot together. We've worked together, graduated together, applied for (and switched) jobs together, and moved into our first apartments together."

Jack was ready to propose but his extensive research of online diamond retailers left him unimpressed until he came across Brian Gavin Diamonds. "I had a great experience buying a diamond from BGD! The staff were very responsive and made me feel comfortable buying a diamond online. I was looking for a diamond that was simple yet elegant, and the Three Stone Trellis setting was perfect! Of course, I was impressed by the quality of the diamonds at BGD and could not wait to see the ring once I ordered it! I worked with Jamie and Lesley, and they were both wonderful to work with. They were very responsive and made the process of buying a diamond online very enjoyable! I also love knowing how much BGD values the quality of their products and that the ring is truly the best of the best!"

With the help of the Brian Gavin Diamonds Team Jack chose a Crossed Trellis Platinum Engagement Ring with a 1.301 H VS Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows Round center stone and .248 H VS & .247 H VS Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows Round side stones.

While picking out the perfect engagement ring, Jack was also planning the perfect proposal! However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, things would not be able to go as planned. Jack still had a way to make the proposal just as special.

"I had originally planned a surprise engagement party for after I popped the question with our family and friends, but we were not able to have the party due to the coronavirus. So, I had to go with Plan B!

I knew that I wanted to propose at the beach in Rhode Island because this beach is very special to Megan and is where her family has vacationed every since she was young. I spent many lunch breaks on the phone with my family talking through how to set up the picnic and the arbor. I got Adirondack chairs, blankets, beach pillows, a table, and champagne for the picnic. My mom and sister ordered beautiful flowers and decorated the arbor. I designed a scrapbook titled "Our Road to I Do" with pictures of us for us to look through after I proposed.

I coordinated with Caitlin Kershaw Photography to make sure we had someone there to capture the memories. Caitlin was great and got some awesome pictures of the proposal!

I also had to make sure that the beach management was OK with this setup. So, I spoke with Janice, the Manager of the Napatree Point Conservation Area, ahead of time to make sure that they were OK with my family setting things up on the beach. Janice was awesome and helped me coordinate everything!"

With all his planning, Megan had an idea the proposal was happening soon but Jack let the anticipation go just a little longer before popping the questions!

"I was suspicious that morning before we left our apartment to go to the beach, and I got all dressed up just in case. We drove to my favorite beach in Misquamicut, RI, and ate our packed lunches. Jack left to go check on the car, and I thought that when he came back he was going to propose… but he didn't. Then, we went on a walk, and I thought he was going to propose then… but he didn't! I had given up hope at this point and started to loosen up a bit. We left to drive home and stopped in Watch Hill, RI to go on a walk by the water. Jack offered to walk on the beach there and I agreed, not thinking anything of it. Little did I know, he had set up a spot on the beach with an arbor and a picnic! I immediately started to cry!"

After the tears, Megan was able to fully take in the beauty of her Brian Gavin Diamond! We were thrilled to read her first impression of her BGD diamond!

"Wow wow wow! When I first saw my new Brian Gavin Diamonds ring, the first thing I noticed was the sparkle! We were lucky enough to have a beautifully sunny day at the beach, and man did that ring pop! The next thing I noticed was the detail of the setting. Jack chose the Three Stone Trellis setting, and it couldn't be more perfect. It is simple yet sophisticated, and I can't stop looking at it! I also immediately noticed how comfortable it is to wear."

Congratulations Jack and Megan. Thank you for choosing Brian Gavin Diamonds to be a part of your love story!
