Flower Shot of the Brian Gavin Signature H & A Diamond

Discerning Customer is Thrilled with her Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows Diamond and Grace Solitaire Wedding Set…

At the beginning of June we received a call from a customer who had found our company on Pricescope and was looking to purchase a 2.50 ct + F/G VS round brilliant diamond. We put the customer through to Brian who described a magnificent 2.90 G SI1 Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamond that had just come in from the factory. The customer was a little concerned about both the G and the SI1 as she had never gone below an F VS2 before. Brian assured her that the stone faced up white and was eye clean to the naked eye from both 3 and 8 inches and she decided to proceed with the purchase. She discussed settings with Denise and decided on our beautiful and classic Grace Solitaire with the matching band. As is our process, we created the ring specifically to fit the size of the diamond and the ring size and we e-mailed the finished Glamor Shots out to our customer. We shipped the package out via FedEx Priority overnight and we received the following e-mail shortly after the package had been picked up from the FedEx Station by her husband:

Hi Denise,

Apologies for not emailing yesterday afternoon when we got the rings. We had unexpected company arrive in the afternoon and they stayed until after dark (how terribly inconsiderate of them, when I had rings to admire!) So it wasn't until today that I really had a chance to take a good look at the rings. The weather is awful today (thunderstorms) so I haven't been able to take the ring outside to see what it looks like in the sunlight, dappled shade, etc., but our first impressions are that it is absolutely beautiful! When we opened the box, both my husband and I said, "Wow!" and then just stood there admiring it. The sparkle and brilliance of the stone is really, truly amazing. As I'm typing away now, I keep having to correct mistakes because I get distracted by looking at the diamond. 🙂

I love the setting very much. It's simple yet elegant, and very comfortable to wear. It reminds me of my very first wedding set, in terms of width and simplicity of the bands and the feel of both bands on my hand. (Of course, since we got married in 1979 :-), that set was in yellow gold.) Since then, I've had numerous other stones/bands/settings, but honestly I think my favorite has always been the plain, simple setting type like the Grace.

My previous ring was a 3.03 emerald cut flanked by 1/2 ct. each trapezoids. Even though emerald cuts are much "quieter" stones than RBs, with that much diamond coverage (plus my asscher eternity band), I always felt like it looked "too much" with casual clothing so I often wore just the eternity band. That was kind of sad, to have my engagement ring sitting in a drawer most of the time. This time around, I wanted to be sure that I could wear my diamond ring in most situations without feeling like it was "too much" for me, and I think this size and setting are the perfect choices for me. As for the color (this is my first G colored stone), I put it next to my diamond pendant which is F color, and it was really tough for me to tell the difference. Oh, and we also love the sweet little surprise stones in the wedding band. I love sentimental touches like that.

Thank you again – and many thanks also to Brian and Lesley – for all your help and the very personal, professional (and fast!) service everyone provided. My husband and I really appreciate it! I look forward to working with you all again and already have a couple of things in mind.

Best, Mary
