The New Martini Solitaire Engagement Ring from Brian Gavin Diamonds…
Last week, we shipped off the premier edition of our new Martini Solitaire Engagement Ring to a customer in the UK. He purchased a magnificent 0.75 J VS2 Brian Gavin Signature Hearts and Arrows diamond and requested that we custom make the setting in palladium. Following is the wonderful e-mail that we received from him today…
"Well Lesley what a day yesterday turned out to be! Late in the afternoon I noticed that the tracking of my parcel showed that it was at our local delivery office, so I thought on the off chance I would give them a call to see if there was any possibility of me going to pick the ring up from there rather than wait for them to deliver it on Tuesday. There was only one person left in the depot and he happened to be working late and said that it was no problem at all for me to pop over, if it was in the next half hour or so. The only problem was my girlfriend was out in our car and so I had no way of getting over there!
I popped round to ask our next door neighbour if she would take me over and she said yes! Cue a mad dash to the depot to get there before the worker left and locked up! We made it across with minutes to spare and I managed to pick up the ring – and what a ring it is! I was absolutely stunned by the diamond and the setting; it was absolutely beautiful and more perfect than I expected it to be! I'm not sure why I was so worried about the diamond not facing up white, it looks absolutely gorgeous and the sunlight sparkled and danced off it! I have never seen a diamond sparkle so much in my life, so it IS true that the cut makes all the difference!
So I then had to think on my feet a bit about the proposal because I didn't want to wait too long to give the ring to her as I don't think I would have been able to hide it for very long but also because the day had been so perfect I thought it would just finish it off! I settled on tie-ing the lovely box around our springer spaniels neck with some red ribbon and making her wait in another room out of the way. We had just had a lovely meal and I got down on one knee, reeled off a bit of a nervous garbled speech and then called the dog through! I don't think she knew quite what was happening and she was shaking as much as I was when I put the ring on her finger! I was slightly worried I had incorrectly sized the ring but it turned out to be an absolutely perfect fit.
So I can now say that she is my fiancée! I'm so happy and I just wanted to thank you for all of your hard work and for making such a special piece of jewellery for us both! The process was much quicker than I thought it was going to be and it was such a joy to have you there, helping at every step of the way! She can't quite believe the story about me getting it designed and made in the US and she commented that I must have had someone fantastic helping me, which I did!
She asked me to pass on her thanks to both of you for helping to make her the happiest girl alive and for making her such a beautiful custom ring! Thank you so much again Lesley (I know I keep saying that!!!), I'll definitely be mentioning your name to anyone who is looking for a diamond and I know that I will be coming back to you again in the future for any other diamond jewellery I need, after all, who else would put up with my incessant questions!? Could you please also pass on my thanks to the ring makers and designers who have done an amazing job, and also to the man himself for being such a genius with diamonds and for creating something so beautiful! I'm looking forward to seeing the diamond through the H&A viewer to fully appreciate the cut!
